The RCHS Bibliography of the History of Inland Waterways, Railways & Road Transport in the British Isles (updated 2nd December 2025)
NEW: The 2024 RCHS Bibliography has been published: see below or Click Here
Each annual bibliography of books, theses and periodical articles includes contributions from a number of RCHS members
This is the first annual bibliography since it first appeared in 1985 without the name of Grahame Boyes as sole or joint compiler, since Grahame has decided it is time to step down from assembling the final product. Its concept and format are all his work, and much gratitude is due to him for labouring at the bibliographic coalface for so long.
Thanks for contributions for the 2024 Bibliography are due to from Philip Brown, Richard Coulthurst, Tim Edmonds, Ian Mitchell, Michael Perrins, Paul Reynolds, Geoff Smith and Michael Thomson, to all of whom thanks are due, as also to the Cumbrian Railways Association, Great North of Scotland Railway Association, Industrial Railway Society and Midland Railway Society for provision of complimentary copies of their journals.
As usual “Ott. xxx” indicates an entry in Ottley’s Bibliography of British Railway History.
