The Group’s Mission Statement
This group is a forum for members and friends of the Railway & Canal Historical Society, a registered charity, that is also open to anyone with an interest in transport history. It can be used to pose questions, assist in research and to give details of relevant sources (including web sites). Details of forthcoming events, talks, trips or outings into the field may be posted. As today’s events are tomorrow’s history, news of current developments are also welcome. Attachments are permitted.
How to Join
New members are most welcome. Messages can be received as individual emails or in daily bulletins. They can also be read on the website: https://groups.io/g/rchs. There is no advertising.
The group can be joined on the website (https://groups.io/g/rchs) or by email to rchs+subscribe@groups.io. As an anti-spam measure the first two messages from a member are subject to moderation.
Members of the Group have found it a useful forum for posting queries or discussing particular aspects of their interests. Whilst the default setting is for members of the Group to receive all messages posted to the Group by email, it is also possible to elect for a no email setting and to look at messages posted only by accessing the site.
The Group is not intended as an alternative to the Society’s SIGs, but offers a facility for general and interactive discussion among RCHS members and others with an interest in transport history. For more information, please contact Peter Johnson at rchs+owner@groups.io.
