Existing Members may renew their subscriptions using the options below
Subscriptions run from January 1 and are normally for a year. Members pay a full subscription when they initially join the Society. Members joining after July 1 in any year pay a full subscription which lasts to the end of the following year.
Renewal Forms are sent out to members with the November Journal and contain the appropriate information.
This year, subscriptions are: Individual – £20 : Double – £25 : Student – £7 (Evidence of full-time study should accompany renewal). Members receive three Journals and six copies of the Society’s Bulletin as well as access to the members facilities of the website.
Overseas members pay the same subscription as UK members, but some members recognise the additional postage costs by making a donation. The society also welcomes donations to support its activities. If you wish to make a donation, let us know whether is should go to the General, Publications or Research fund. Let the Membership Secretary know if you are making a donation or any sum above the annual subscription will be gratefully assigned to the General Donations.
If you do not already Gift Aid your subscription then please consider doing so. It is worth and extra 25% to the Society at no cost to you. Visit the Gift Aid page.

If you simply want to renew and perhaps donate, then the shop can be used to do this quickly without filling in the form here. Just make sure your payment identifies your surname and postcode.
You can renew your membership in any of the following ways:

- You can pay by Internet Banking using your Bank’s website.
Please remit to a/c 00017059 at 40-52-40. (CAF Bank Ltd, 25 Kings Hill Avenue, Kings Hill, West Malling, ME19 4JQ). Please use your surname and postcode as the reference.
- If you wish to pay by cheque, make it payable to ‘The Railway & Canal Historical Society’ or ‘R&CHS‘ and send it to the RCHS Membership Secretary, Dove Cottage, Thorpe, Ashbourne, DE6 2AW, writing your name and postcode on the back.
- You can set up a direct debit by filling in the instructions on the renewal form. Download a copy, here fill it in and post it to the Membership Secretary or scan the completed form and email it to the Membership Secretary
