Images of 150 years of Yorkshire’s Waterways: The Yorkshire Waterways Heritage Society’s collection of photographs illuminating the lives of hard workng watermwn who plied their trade on the waterways 19th and 20th century Yorkshire.
Web Team Miscellany: This page, updated on 7th January 2024, is devoted to miscellaneous items sent to the Web Team by RCHS members or friends as articles or movie clips they think may be of interest to both other members and visitors to the website.
Canal Tunnels Database: This started as a project to answer a question about what tunnels existed and could or could not be used by canoes and ‘sort of grew’. The result is a comprehensive database complied by RCHS member Robin Avery.
Open Discussion Group : This group is an forum for members and friends of the Railway & Canal Historical Society. It is open to anyone with an interest in transport history.
Monuments Database: The society maintains a database of nearly 1,000 transport-related monuments.
Transport History Anniversaries: The society produces annually a list of transport history anniversaries covering events from 25, 50, 75, 400, 150, 175, 200, 250 and 300 years prior to the current year.
