Glaisdale’s Past Industrial Lines, by invitation of the Railway Ramblers’ Club. A re-run of two favourite, circular walks (2½ miles & 3 miles), this time jointly with Cleveland Industrial Archaeology Society. Meet at 10.30 at Glaisdale War Memorial (NZ 775054) where there is roadside car parking. (Public transport in the area is infrequent and the timings are unsuitable). OS maps Landranger 94, Explorer OL27.

In the morning looking at the remains of the never-completed “Paddy Waddle’s Railway” (Cleveland Extension Mineral Railway) then following a picnic lunch on Glaisdale village green, a walk along the trackbed of Glaisdale’s ironstone tramway across the moor to Postgate quarries and ironstone mine site. Wear strong footwear; a walking stick will be useful. Leader Jane Ellis. Booking is not required.
