The Rolle Canal, also known as the Torrington Canal, was a tub-boat canal in North Devon. The canal linked Great Torrington to the River Torridge, three miles above Bideford. Opened in 1827, it was closed in 1871 and is now the focus of a restoration project.

Ian Harrison’s presentation begins with the history of the Rolle Canal, followed by a virtual tour up the canal illustrating important features that can still be seen along the route. At the end he will cover the restoration work of the Rolle Canal Society

The Society has about 100 paid up members, including some 25 volunteers. Ian Harrison is its Chairman, and its website is www.rollecanalsociety.org
