A linear walk looking at the infrastructure of, and around, the Leeds ends of the Leeds & Liverpool Canal and the Aire & Calder Canal. The distance to the L&L Canal river lock (adjacent to Leeds station) is 5½ miles. Depending on time and weather conditions there will be an optional extension of approximately 1½ miles to Leeds Dock (the Armouries). Pub lunch. Meet at Kirkstall Forge Station after the arrival of the 10:32 train from Leeds (arrive 10:38). Leader: Bill Jagger.
