Pocklington Canal Head
This event is now fully booked.
It is the 200th Anniversary of the opening of the Pocklington Canal in 1818 and this event will include a towpath walk and a boat trip on the canal.
We will assemble at 10.00 at the Canal Head (SE799473).This is off the A1079 York to Hull road. A car shuffle will then be made. We will then walk to Melbourne (five miles) from the Canal Head. Lunch will be taken at the Melbourne Arms after which there will be a round boat trip returning to Melbourne. If there is sufficient time we will go in cars to see parts of the rest of the canal near East Cottingwith.
The boat only has room for twelve passengers and the cost will be £11 per person. For further information or to book a place, please contact Douglas Robinson by 27 April and advise him whether you will be travelling by car : email firstname.lastname@example.org or telephone 07741499967.
