DESCRIPTION:David Lowe\, past chairman of the Commercial Boat Operators Ass
 ociation\, has been interested in canals and waterways for most of his lif
 e. He ran a large boat and barge operation in the North of England and the
  Midlands for 27 years. He owns the ex M&amp\;CCCo Boat Apollo and will te
 ll us of his interest and experiences.\n\nThis meeting will be held in the
  Brierley Room of the York Explore Library\, Museum Street\, York\, YO1 7D
 S. This venue is about ten minutes walk from York Railway Station\, across
  Lendal Bridge towards the Minster. It is on the left just before the traf
 fic lights.\n\nThere is a café inside the library selling drinks and snac
 ks.\n\nMembers of other groups and visitors are welcome to attend. A volun
 tary contribution of at least £3.00 is requested to help defray meeting r
